Job Description:
The purpose of the class is to assist with electric line maintenance or installation. The class is responsible for loading and delivering materials, traffic control, setting up equipment, technical or manual support tasks, and logs or routine reports. The class works according to some procedures; decides how and when to do things under general supervision. This is a progressive classification leading to an Electric Line Technician Apprentice classification which is required to move forward when a position opens.
Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Basic algebra. This position is an entry level position and the employee will receive on the job training. Being an entry level position the person accepting this position or holding this position understands that he/she will be eligible for promotion and understands that promoting into an Electric Line Technician Apprentice position is a condition of employment as positions become available. Requires a valid State of Florida Class A temporary permit for CDL and a satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. At the end of the six (6) months’ probation period, employee must take and pass the exam required for possession of a Florida Class A CDL.
