Subject:                      Resolution Authorizing Amendment Two extending the Lease Agreement with Derek Schoening d/b/a Lake Marine to provide Watercraft Repair Services at Venetian Cove Marina

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of Amendment Two extending the Lease Agreement with Derek Schoening d/b/a Lake Marine to provide watercraft repair services at Leesburg Venetian cove Marina.

Analysis:

On August 25, 2008, the City Commission approved Amendment One extending the Lease Agreement with Derek Schoening d/b/a Lake Marine for the purpose of providing watercraft repair services at the Venetian Cove Marina effective October 1, 2008.

Derek Schoening continues to provide quality watercraft repair services for the Venetian Cove Marina patrons.  In addition, his account is currently up to date.

Derek Schoening’s rent will remain at $400 monthly plus all applicable sales tax during the one year term of this contract expiring September 30, 2010.  Due to the current economic climate, renegotiation of the rent was not requested at this time. 

All other terms and conditions are described within the attached agreement.

Options:

1.  Approve Amendment Two extending the Lease Agreement with Derek Schoening d/b/a Lake

     Marine or;

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

This agreement will generate $4,800 in revenue for the City of Leesburg for the one year term.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT TWO EXTENDING THE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH DEREK SCHOENING D/B/A LAKE MARINE TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2010, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING WATERCRAFT REPAIR SERVICES FOR THE VENETIAN COVE MARINA; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Amendment Two extending the Lease Agreement with Derek Schoening d/b/a Lake Marine whose address is 2613 Icabod Court, Leesburg, Florida 34748 for the purpose of providing watercraft repair services for the Venetian Cove Marina.  The Lessee shall pay monthly rent of $400.  This extension is a one year term unless earlier terminated in accordance with the terms of this Lease.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
