Staff recommends approval to execute a Purchase and Sales Contract with Abraham Conner for the purpose of purchasing vacant land for redevelopment.
The subject property includes one vacant lot located on Nebraska Avenue. The vacant lot is part of an acquisition effort to attract new residential development within the CRA. Acquisition of the subject property is imperative for residential development that would increase the overall taxable value of the Carver Heights & Vicinity CRA.
The catalyst for the creation of the CRA was to revitalize and beautify the area. The acquisition of the subject property together with adjacent parcels will position the CRA to be more prepared to offer “shovel ready” property when attempting to attract professional residential developers. Therefore, with the purchase of this property the CRA can offer single family lots for affordable housing.
1. Approve the resolution to execute the Contract for Sales and Purchase between the CRA and Abraham Conner or;
2. Such alternative action as the CRA Board may deem appropriate
The total purchase price pursuant to the contract is $10,500.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CARVER HEIGHTS/MONTCLAIR AREA COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO EXECUTE A SALE AND PURCHASE CONTRACT WITH ABRAHAM CONNER, FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY PURCHASING THE SUBJECT PROPERTY FOR REDEVELOPMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CARVER HEIGHTS/MONTCLAIR AREA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
THAT the Chairperson and Secretary are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Abraham Conner, whose address is 910 Georgia Ave, Leesburg, Florida 34748, for acquisition of a vacant lot on Nebraska Avenue.
THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
