Subject:                      Resolution authorizing Change Order No.2 to Task Order Number 27 for Construction Phase Services for Improvements to the Turnpike Water Reclamation Facility

 

 

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of Change Order Number 2 to AECOM USA, Inc. in the amount of $100,255.00.

 

Analysis:

In the regular meeting of November 23, 2009, the City Commission awarded the bid for the Turnpike Headworks Lift Station.  This Change Order provides for construction phase services for that project.  The construction phase services include shop drawing submittal, review and approval, periodic site inspections, pay application review and approval, and project close-out procedures.  The latter include Substantial and Final Completion reviews and inspections and documents necessary for submittal to FDEP, including record drawings, Certificate of Completion and updates to Operation and Maintenance Manuals.

 

AECOM is the design and permitting engineer for the project.  Because of the complexity of the project, it is appropriate that AECOM should supply construction phase services, as well.  This provides continuity through the construction phase and it is cost-effective because AECOM is already familiar with the plant, the site and the details of the project and will not have to spend time simply “getting up to speed”.

 

Options:

1.  Authorize execution of Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $100,255.00 to AECOM USA, Inc. as presented; or,

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

 

Fiscal Impact

A budget adjustment will be processed in the amount of $100,255.00 for use of available Impact Fees for this purpose.

A resolution of the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute Change Order No. 2 to Task Order No. 27 to AECOM USA, Inc. for Construction Phase Services for Improvements to the Turnpike Water Reclamation Facility FOR $100,255.00; and providing an effective date.

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

 

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Change Order Number 2 to Task Order Number 27  with AECOM USA, Inc., Successor in Interest to Boyle Engineering Corporation whose address is 1600 West Main Street, Suite 1, Leesburg, Florida 34748, for Construction Phase Services For Improvements to the Turnpike Water Reclamation Facility.

 

             THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
