Subject: Purchase request 41684 to Superior Asphalt of Central Florida for annual street resurfacing
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of purchase request 41684 to Superior Asphalt of Central Florida for annual street resurfacing not to exceed $400,000.00.
Analysis:
The Public Works Department has submitted a request to issue a purchase order to Superior Asphalt of Central Florida for the budgeted amount of $400,000.00. The City has an existing street resurfacing contract with the contractor resulting from Invitation to Bid 90281. At its regular meeting June 8, 2009 the City Commission awarded the contract to Superior Asphalt.
An amount of $400,000.00 was budgeted in Fiscal Year 2009-10 for the annual street resurfacing. Public Works has provided the attached list of streets that will be targeted during this years’ resurfacing campaign.
This list of street represents approximately 19,637 feet or 3.71 miles of street resurfacing.
Options:
1. Approve the expenditure to Superior Asphalt of Central Florida; or
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate
Fiscal Impact:
Funds are budgeted and available in the current fiscal year.
