SUBJECT:                  Resolution for Historic Preservation Board appointments

 

 

Staff Recommendation: 

The staff recommends the City Commission appoint two regular members to the Historic Preservation Board.

           

Analysis:

The City’s Historic Preservation Board consists of seven (7) regular members plus two (2) alternates, all of which must be appointed by the City Commission. Currently there are two regular positions on the Board that have expired on September 30, 2009 and one vacant alternate position. John O’Kelley and Guy Ross are requesting reappointment to the vacant regular member positions. Their applications are enclosed for board appointments. Both have businesses in the historic district and have served for numerous years on the Board.

 

Options:        

1.         Approve reappointments for the two vacancies on the Board for two regular members, said terms to expire September 30, 2012.

 

2.         Other such action as the Commission may deem appropriate.

 

Fiscal Impact:

There is no fiscal impact to the City.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, appointing _________________________________________________ AND ___________________________________________________as regular memberS to the HISTORIC Preservation Board said terms to expire September 30, 2012, and providing an effective date.

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

THAT, the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida finds that two regular member positions on the Historic Preservation Board have expired.

THAT, the City Commission hereby appoints ______________________as a regular member and _____________________________, as a regular member said terms expire September 30, 2012;

 

THIS RESOLUTION shall become effective immediately.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 8th day of March, 2010.
