Subject:                      Resolution appointing a member of the Leesburg Firefighters Pension Board

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends the Commission appoint a member to the Leesburg Firefighters Pension Board.

Analysis:

Bill O’Brien, one of the two Commission appointments to the City of Leesburg’s Firefighters Pension Board, resigned from the position December 31, 2009, creating a vacant position for the Commission to fill.    

John Kriete has been recommended to fill the opening on the Board.  Mr. Kriete has submitted an application for the position, which is attached.

Options:

1.  Appoint a member to the Leesburg Firefighters Pension Board; or

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, HEREBY APPOINTS ____________ AS A MEMBER OF THE LEESBURG FIREFIGHTERS PENSION BOARD FOR A TWO YEAR TERM TO EXPIRE DECEMBER 31, 2011; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the City Commission hereby appoints ________  for a two year term to expire December 31, 2011.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
