Subject:                      Request for a Commissioner to serve on the Salvation Army Advisory Board

Staff Recommendation:

Commission to determine if a Commissioner will serve on the Salvation Army Advisory Board

Analysis:

The Salvation Army is in the process of building their Advisory Board, made up of volunteers in the Community.  They are seeking new members who will be active and beneficial to the Salvation Army here in Leesburg.

The Salvation Army has requested that a member of the City Commission of the City of Leesburg serve on the Volunteer Advisory Board for the Leesburg Salvation Army.

Options:

1.  Appoint a member of the Leesburg City Commission to the Advisory Board for the Leesburg Salvation Army

2.   Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate.   Based on the Commission’s decision, I will or will not add this appointment to the list of appointments at the Organizational meeting beginning January 3, 2011.

None for the actual appointment.
