Subject: Resolution authorizing Task Order No. 10 with Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc. for final design and permitting to enclose the Birchwood Ditch Conveyance System
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of Task Order No. 10 with Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc. for the final design and permitting to enclose the Birchwood Ditch Conveyance System.
Analysis:
The existing conveyance system is open ditch. This project consists of engineering and design to pipe and enclose the Birchwood system. Enclosing the ditch will reduce maintenance costs, as well as reduce risk to our citizens.
Options:
1. Approve Task Order No. 10 as presented; or,
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate
Fiscal Impact:
Cost of the engineering services is $58,125.00. This task order will include final design, permitting and project oversight. Money for this project has been budgeted in FY 09/10 in the account listed below.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE TASK ORDER NO. 10 WITH JONES EDMUNDS & ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR FINAL DESIGN AND PERMITTING TO ENCLOSE THE BIRCHWOOD DITCH CONVEYANCE SYSTEM FOR $58,125.00; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc., whose address is, 730 NE Waldo Road, Gainesville, FL 32641, for Task Order No. 10.
THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
