Subject:                      Resolution authorizing Task Order No. 11 with Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc. to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Lee Street Stormwater Treatment Facility

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of Task Order No. 11 with Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc. to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Lee Street Stormwater Treatment Facility.

Analysis:

The Lee Street Stormwater Treatment Facility effectiveness evaluation is required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for the completion of the Whispering Pines project.  The goal of this evaluation is to analyze the reduction of nutrient loading into Lake Griffin.  The evaluation will consist of monitoring ten rain events, laboratory analysis, and a final report to FDEP.  Fifty percent of the Whispering Pines project is funded by FDEP.

Options:

1.  Approve Task Order No. 11 as presented; or,

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

Funding is budgeted and available in the Stormwater Fund in the amount of $115,000.00

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE TASK ORDER NO. 11 WITH JONES EDMUNDS & ASSOCIATES, INC. TO MONITOR AND EVALUATE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE LEE STREET STORMWATER TREATMENT FACILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement  with Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc., whose address is 730 NE Waldo Road, Gainesville, FL 32641, for Task Order No. 11.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
