Subject: Resolution authorizing execution of a construction services agreement with Smith, Broomfield, and Howard Construction and Restoration, LLC for the Renovation of a Single Family Residence at 704 Beecher Street
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends execution of the construction services agreement with Smith, Broomfield, and Howard Construction and Restoration, LLC (SBH-C&R) for the Renovation of a Single Family Residence at 704 Beecher Street for a total amount of $29,975.00.
Analysis:
CHMCRA is the current owner of the single family residence at 704 Beecher Street. The renovation of the single family residence will allow the home to be placed on the market for sale and purchase by a first-time homebuyer. The home was purchased as part of a previous CRA property acquisition of two modular units, which are adjacent to the subject property.
Procurement Information
On June 13, 2010, the Purchasing Division issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) 100351 soliciting qualified and interested firms to submit bid responses for this project. The ITB was advertised in the Daily Commercial and posted on-line through BidSYNC.
On June 21, 2010, a total of three responses were received and are summarized here for your review.

Fiscal Impact:
The total cost to renovate the single family residence pursuant to the construction services agreement is $29,975.00. This is a capital project which is approved be funded thru the 2008 Revenue Note.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CARVER HEIGHTS/ MONTCLAIR AREA COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE community redevelopment agency chairman TO EXECUTE THE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH SMITH, BROOMFIELD, AND HOWARD CONSTRUCTION AND RESTORATION, LLC FOR THE RENOVATION OF A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE AT 704 BEECHER STREET; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CARVER HEIGHTS/MONTCLAIR AREA COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT the Carver Heights/ Montclair Area Community Redevelopment Agency hereby authorizes and directs the Chairman and Secretary to execute the construction services agreement with SMITH, BROOMFIELD, AND HOWARD CONSTRUCTION AND RESTORATION, LLC whose address is 321 W. Alfred Street, Tavares, Florida for the Renovation of a Single Family Residence pursuant to Invitation to Bid 100351.
THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Carver Heights/Montclair Area Community Redevelopment Agency Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held the _12th___ day of __July_______ 2010.
