Subject: Resolution authorizing receipt of a 2009-2010 State Homeland Security Grant
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of the State Homeland Security Grant of $9,000.00
Analysis:
The City of Leesburg has been a recipient of this grant for several years and it has been invaluable to our training program. This grant will assist with the training cost of ensuring our members are trained in technical rescue operations, hazardous material response, and urban search and rescue.
Options:
1. Approve receipt of the State Homeland Security Grant of $9,000.00; or
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate
Fiscal Impact:
There is no match required for this grant. A budget adjustment will be processed to add this revenue and expenditure to the budget.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A 2009-2010 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM SUBRECIPIENT AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT FUNDING FOR FLORIDA FOR TECHNICAL RESCUE TEAM TRAINING, URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE TRAINING, AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAINING; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the 2009-2010 State Homeland Security Grant Program Subrecipient agreement for expenditures of local government unit funding for Florida, whose address is John P. Kohnke, Domestic Security coordinator, Division of State Fire Marshal, 200 East Gaines Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-0340. This grant will assist with the training cost of ensuring our members are trained in technical rescue operations, hazardous material response, and urban search and rescue.
THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held the _9th____ day of _August________ 2010.
