SUBJECT: Resolution for Historic Preservation Board appointments
Staff Recommendation:
The staff recommends the City Commission appoint one alternate member and three regular members to the Historic Preservation Board.
Analysis:
The City’s Historic Preservation Board consists of seven regular members plus two alternates, all of which must be appointed by the City Commission. Currently there is one vacancy on the Board for an alternate member and three regular members (Robert Bone, William Hayes and Jane Sewell) with terms that are expiring. These three members reapplied for appointment. The City has received one application requesting appointment to the Board. J. Scott Berry lives in and has a business in the historic district.

There is no fiscal impact to the City.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, appointing ONE ALTERNATE member said term to expire September 30, 2012 AND THREE REGULAR memberS said termS to expire September 30, 2013 AND September 30, 2014, to the HISTORIC Preservation Board, and providing an effective date.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT, the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida finds that three regular members and an one alternate member position are vacant and that said positions are expiring on the Historic Preservation Board;
THAT the City Commission hereby appoints regular members and an alternate member with said terms expiring as follows:

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held on the 11th day of October, 2010.
