Subject:                      Resolution authorizing Appointment to the Lake Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Citizens Advisory Committee

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends appointing George W. “Bill” Farner, Jr. to the Lake Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Citizens Advisory Committee.

Analysis:

Mr. Farner, Hall-Farner and Associates, Inc., has served for the past two years as the City of Leesburg’s appointment to the Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Citizens Advisory Committee.  His current term expires December 31, 2010.

Mr. Farner advised City Manager Evans that he is interested in serving another term.  The term will begin January 1, 2011 and end December 31, 2012.

Options:

1. Approve George W. “Bill” Farner, Jr. as the City of Leesburg’s representative to the Citizens Advisory Committee

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA APPOINTING GEORGE W. "BILL" FARNER, JR. TO THE LAKE SUMTER METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION'S CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the City Commission hereby appoints George W. “Bill”  Farner, Jr. to the LSMPO’s Citizens Advisory Committee, with term ending December 31, 2012.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held the 20th day of December 2010.
