Subject:                      Resolution authorizing an agreement with Erik L. Melear, P.E. for engineering services.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval  of an engineering services agreement with  Erik L. Melear, P.E.  for $24,640.00.

Analysis:

Professional services are required for review and modification of the Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP) and other wastewater programs in compliance with requirements set forth by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP).  This program was established in response to conditions set forth in the City’s domestic wastewater facility permit, which mandates the development and implementation of the IPP.

Options:

1.  Approve the above described requisition; or,

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

This expense of $24,640 was not included in the current budget; however, available impact fees of $217,245.51 can fund this item.  A budget adjustment will be presented to the City Commission with the 2^nd Quarter budget adjustments.

RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH ERIK L. MELEAR, P.E. FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement  with Erik L. Melear, P.E.,  whose address is 1401 Catalpa Lane, Orlando, Florida 32806, for engineering services.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held the _14th____ day of _March________ 2011.
