Subject:                      Resolution authorizing a Consent to Assignment of Lease among the City of Leesburg, Greg Shaffer & Winton Douglas and Q–Free International AS for property at Leesburg International Airport

 

 

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of the Consent to Assignment of Lease agreement.

 

Analysis:

The hangar located at 9020 Airport Boulevard is currently owned by Mr. Winton Douglas and Mr. Greg Shaffer.  They have agreed to sell the hangar to Q-Free International AS.  Mr. Kai Bogen and Mr. Mark Hancock are the representatives of Q-Free International AS.  This business will refurbish aircraft of all types for resale in the worldwide market.  Q-Free International AS has been operating at the airport for approximately four years from space in the Skybolt hangar under the name Inverted Attitudes. 

 

All terms of the original lease agreement with remain in effect and will apply to Q-Free International.

 

The Airport Advisory Board reviewed this agreement at their April 13th meeting and recommended approval.

 

Options:

1.  Approve the Consent to Assignment of Lease agreement; or

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

 

Fiscal Impact: 

Approval of this agreement will have no fiscal impact on the City of Leesburg.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONSENT TO ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE AMONG THE CITY OF LEESBURG, GREG SHAFFER & WINTON DOUGLAS AND Q-FREE INTERNATIONAL AS FOR PROPERTY AT 9020 AIRPORT BOULEVARD AT THE LEESBURG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

 

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a Consent to Assignment of Lease agreement among the City of Leesburg, Greg Shaffer & Winton Douglas whose address is 9020 Airport Boulevard, Leesburg, FL  34788 and Q-Free International AS whose address is Hevnegata 7, 7462 Trondheim, Norway for property at Leesburg International Airport.

 

             THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.

 

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held the 25th day of April 2011.
