Subject: Resolution authorizing sale of a Single-Family residential property at
704 Beecher Street to Donna Robinson, a first-time homebuyer
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval to execute a Purchase and Sales Contract with Donna Robinson, a first-time homebuyer for residential property at 704 Beecher Street.
Analysis:
The subject property, 704 Beecher Street, is a single-family residential unit. The parcel is part of an affordable housing initiative to attract eligible homebuyers for existing and new construction residential units within the CRA. The sale of the subject property is imperative for the overall investment and taxable value of the Carver Heights/Montclair Area CRA.
The Carver Heights/Montclair Area CRA recently rehabilitated the unit to be able to market as an affordable housing unit for an eligible first time buyer. The catalyst for the creation of the CRA was to revitalize and beautify the area. The sale of the subject property together with adjacent parcels will assist the CRA’s developer and investor marketing efforts and provide a return on investment for the Housing Rehabilitation Program.
Options:
1. Approve the resolution to execute the Contract for Sales and Purchase with Donna Robinson, a first time homebuyer; or
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate.
Fiscal Impact:
The total sale price pursuant to the contract is $30,000 which will be available to the Carver Heights/Montclair Area CRA for additional redevelopment projects.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CARVER HEIGHTS/MONTCLAIR AREA COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY TO EXECUTE A SALE AND PURCHASE CONTRACT WITH DONNA ROBINSON, A FIRST TIME HOMEBUYER, FOR THE SUBJECT PROPERTY AT 704 BEECHER STREET FOR $30,000.00; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CRA COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT the Chairperson and Secretary/City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the Sale and Purchase Contract with Donna Robinson for the purpose of selling the subject property, at 704 Beecher Street to a first time homebuyer.
THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
