Staff Recommendation:      

Staff recommends approval of acceptance of the Well Monitoring License Agreement with the State of Florida

 

Analysis:

This agreement is for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining a monitoring well to be used for the collection of hydrological and other scientific data. The City’s consumptive use permit requires that we have four monitoring wells. This is the fourth and final monitoring well to be installed.  The well will be located in the wetland area behind the Leesburg DOT center located on Thomas Road.  The well will be used to monitor water table level.

 

Options:

1.  Authorize staff to execute this agreement with the State of Florida, or;

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A WELL MONITORING LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT TRUST FUND FOR THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND THE CITY OF LEESBURG, AS REQUIRED BY OUR CONSUMPTIVE USE PERMIT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

 

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund of the State of Florida, whose address is c/o State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of State Lands Bureau of Public Land Administration, M. S. 130, 3800 Commonwealth Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL 32399-3000, to execute a well monitoring license agreement as required by our consumptive use permit.

 

             THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
