authorizing approval of an agreement for a $1,000 Grant award to the Housing
& Economic Development Department from TD Bank Charitable Foundation for
housing and redevelopment training
Staff Recommendation:
Staff
recommends approval of the $1,000 TD Bank Charitable Foundation grant award to
the Housing & Economic Development Department for training in the areas of
housing and redevelopment.
Analysis:
The
Housing and Economic Development Staff recently applied for a $1,000 grant from
TD Bank, through the TD Charitable Foundation in support of Staff training in
the areas of redevelopment and housing.
Staff has identified several training opportunities that will allow Staff
to be at the forefront of the profession by receiving specialized training and
attending conferences that focus on housing in-take, real estate development,
and homeownership eligibility.
Options:
1. Approve the agreement for the $1,000 grant
from TD Bank Charitable Foundation; or
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may
deem appropriate
Fiscal Impact:
A
budget adjustment will be necessary to add the revenue and expense to the
Housing & Economic Development budget.

RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT BETWEEN TD BANK THROUGH THE TD CHARITABLE FOUNDATION AND THE CITY OF
LEESBURG FOR FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 FOR HOUSING TRAINING GRANT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute an agreement with TD
Charitable Foundation, whose address is One
Portland Square, Post Office Box 9540, Portland, ME 04112-9540.
THAT
this resolution shall become effective immediately.
