Subject: Resolution appointing the Citizen Advisory Task Force for the 2012 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Neighborhood Revitalization

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends the City Commission approve appointments to the CATF for the 2012 CDBG Neighborhood Revitalization application.

Analysis:

City staff recommends the City Commission authorize staff to prepare a Community Development Block Grant Economic Development application for the 2012 funding cycle. The program requires that a Citizen Advisory Task Force be established to provide a recommendation to the City Commission on the final project(s). The CATF must be comprised of residents and/or business owners. The CATF will meet during the month of August to review the proposed project and design.

Staff recommends the following for the CATF:

Wynderlon Blue (906 Beecher Street)

Leslie Johnson (1070 Tuskegee Street)

Agnes Berry (900 McCormack Street)

Abraham Conner (910 Georgia Avenue)

Mary Rowell (1017 Beecher Street)

Options:

1. Approve the recommended CATF members or;

2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact:

There is no direct fiscal impact related to the appointment of the CATF members. The fiscal impact associated with the individual projects will be discussed as part of those agenda items when the projects are properly defined.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEEBSURG, FLORDA APPOINTING THE CITIZENS ADVISORY TASK FORCE CONSISTING OF AGNES BERRY, WYNDERLON BLUE, LESLIE JOHNSON, ABRAHAM CONNER, AND MARY ROWELL TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

THAT the City Commission hereby appoints the Citizen Advisory Task Force (CATF) to make recommendations for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application submission to the Department of Community Affairs. The CATF shall consist of the following: Agnes Berry, Wynderlon Blue, Leslie Johnson, Abraham Conner, and Mary Rowell.

THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
