RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A FEE SCHEDULE FOR REGISTRATION OF ABANDONED REAL PROPERTY AS DEFINED IN THE CITY CODE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DESIGNATE THE PERSON OR DEPARTMENT IN CHARGE OF COLLECTING THE FEES DUE FOR REGISTRATION OF ABANDONED REAL PROPERTY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the City of Leesburg has adopted an Ordinance requiring the registration of abandoned real property as defined therein, and renewal of registration annually; and

WHEREAS, the Ordinance imposes a fee for registration and renewal to be established by Resolution; and

WHEREAS, to implement the Ordinance, the City of Leesburg has developed the rate schedule adopted by this Resolution.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida:

That the following fee schedule is adopted for the registration and renewal of registration of abandoned real property, and shall remain in effect as such until modified or repealed by subsequent resolution or this body:

INITIAL REGISTRATION, PER PARCEL: $100.00

RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION, PER PARCEL: $100.00

In addition to the fees specified, the Ordinance imposes penalties for late registration or renewal which shall be paid at the time of any delinquent registration or renewal.

In addition, the City Manager is hereby authorized to designate the person or department within the City who shall collect the fees specified above and administer the program requiring registration of abandoned real property..

THIS RESOLUTION shall become effective upon its passage and adopted according to the requirements of law.
