Subject:                      Resolutions authorizing short-term leases for the former All Terrain Lawn and Tractor site located at 8735 U.S. Highway 441 with DRG Silver Lake Holdings, LLC (Jenkins VW)

 

 


Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of the short-term leases with DRG Silver Lake Holdings, LLC (Jenkins Volkswagen) for the former All Terrain Lawn and Tractor site located at 8735 U.S. Highway 441.

 

Analysis:

DRG Silver Lake Holdings, LLC (Jenkins VW) desires to lease the former All Terrain Lawn and Tractor site for the purpose of off-site vehicle storage for their new dealership located at 9105 U.S. Highway 441.  The leases will be for the grounds only, and will not include the building.  Right of ingress and egress to the building will be retained by the City.

 

The leases cover two distinct time periods, from Nov. 14th to Dec. 28th, and January 4th to March 13th.  The lease rate is the same as that used for Phillips Toyota when they leased the property adjacent to Lake Region Urgent Care.

 

 

Options:

1.  Approve the resolutions authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the proposed leases, or

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

 

Fiscal Impact: 

The City will receive approximately $5,414 for four months’ rent.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A SHORT-TERM LEASE AGREEMENT WITH DRJ SILVER LAKE HOLDINGS, LLC, FOR LAND LOCATED AT 8735 U.S. HIGHWAY 441, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

 
 
 


          

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

 

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a lease agreement with DRG Silver Lake Holdings, whose address is 2025 SW COLLEGE ROAD
OCALA FL 34474, for property located at 8735 U.S. Highway 441, for the time period of November 14, 2012 to December 28, 2012.

 

             THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
