Subject:                      Resolution authorizing eExecution of an agreement for Data Transport Fiber Optic Services with The First National Bank of Mt. Dora.

 

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends aAdopting a Resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk toauthorizing execution of  execute an agreement for Data Transport fiber optic services with The First National Bank of Mt. Dora., and provide an effective date.

 

Analysis:

The First National Bank of Mt. Dora, wishes to connect three of their facilities [two in Mt. Dora and one on Market Street, Leesburg] to their data center in Mt. Dora, utilizing City of Leesburg fiber optic transport. Due to the distance from existing City fiber optic cable, the bank has agreed to share the installation cost on two of the sites. The City Attorney's office has created an agreement that will allow the bank to pre-pay their portion of the installation, and continue the contract when the pre- payment period is over.

The agreement has been signed by the bank.

Options:

1.  Adopt a resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a Data Transport Agreement to provide service to The First National Bank of Mt. Dora, and provide an effective date.

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

 

Fiscal Impact: 

The City will receive a pre-payment of $21,930.00 prior to construction which represents half of the total cost of providing the connections to the bank facilities. The City will install the fiber connections with funds available in the Communications Utility’s capital budget. The City will receive $4,800.00 per year for one fiber connection as soon as it is installed, and when the pre-payment period has ended, will receive an additional $9,600.00 per year for the other two connections. Support of the network extension to the bank facilities will be accounted for in the standard operating budget.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF MT. DORA TO PROVIDE FIBER OPTIC DATA TRANSPORT SERVICES, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

 

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement  with The First National Bank of Mt. Dora., whose address is 714 N. Donnelly Street, P.O. Box 95, Mt. Dora, FL 32756,  for fiber optic data transport services. 

 

             THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
