Staff Recommendation:        Approve purchase requisition 36558 in the amount of $24,650 for the purchase of Telecordia Network Engineer GIS software from OneGIS.

 

Analysis:

 

 The software is needed to enable Communications department use of GIS information for fiber optics. The total cost of the software is $51,150. The cost of purchase, installation, and configuration (phase one) is to be done in fiscal 2006 at a cost of $24,650. Completion (phase two) is to be done in fiscal 2007 at a cost of $26,500. Software maintenance will cost $3,550 per year beginning with the second year.

 

This is a sole source purchase.  The competitive bid process was not required.  The City requires the use of  ESRI compatible software products to accommodate the City’s ESRI GIS system.  OneGIS, 115 Perimeter Center Place NE, Suite 942, Atlanta, GA 30346 is the only reseller of Telecordia Network Engineer for governmental use.

 

Options:

1.  Approve the purchase of OnPoint software from OneGIS.

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH ONEGIS, A GEORGIA CORPORATION, FOR TELECORDIA NETWORK ENGINEER SOFTWARE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

 

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement  with OneGIS whose address is __115 Perimeter Center Place NE, Suite 942, Atlanta, GeorgiaA 30346, for the purchase of Telecordia Network Engineer software, as attached hereto..

 

             THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
