Subject: Resolution Apauthorizing proval of a Resolution to execution ofe an agreement with Lake County, Florida for Leased Fiber Optic services.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of a resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an agreement with Lake County, Florida for Leased Fiber Optic services.

Analysis:

The Lake County, FloridaL Information Technology department wishes to connect A a cCounty building at 2401 Woodlea Road, located at the intersection of Woodlea Rd. and CR 19 [Building E],  Tavares, FloridaL,  to the County’s network center located at 315 W. Main Street, Tavares, FloridaL, via City of Leesburg fiber optic cable [2 pairs of fiber]. The Leased Fiber Optic service agreement has been approved and signed by Lake County., and also approved by the City Attorney.

Options:

1.  Approveal ofof the resolution authorizing the agreement with Lake County staff recommendation, or

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

The City of Leesburg will realize additional revenue of $367 per month. Cost of installation will range between $5,000 to $7,000 and will be recovered within 20 months of completion.  Funding is available in the budget.  The City of Leesburg will realize additional revenue of $367.00 per month beginning upon completion of the installation of the fiber optic cable at both sites.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA FOR LEASED FIBER OPTIC SERVICE AT 2401 BUILDINGuilding E, CR 19 AND WOODLEA ROAD, TAVARES, FLORIDA; , AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement  with (NAME OF COMPANY,) LAKE COUNTY, FL whose address is __(MAILING ADDRESS OF COMPANY)___, 315 W. MAIN STREET, TAVARES, FL 32778 for __(LIST THE SERVICE TO BE PROVIDED________ FIBER OPTIC SERVICE. (give the bid or RFP number if applicable.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
