and 315 W. Main St., Tavares, F L.
, FL wishes to
connect an additional building located at 2401
Woodlea Rd., Tavares, F L
to the main Lake County Information Technology data center
located at 315 – 317 W. Main St., Tavares, FL, using City of Leesburg
dark fiber. The Lake County manager has already signed
the contract and it has been reviewed by both Lake
and the Leesburg City Attorney.
1. Approval of staff recommendation, or
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate
contract will provide additional revenue of $428.40 per month to the City of Leesburg.
The costs to provide the service and maintain the network are typical costs
encountered in adding customers to the
fiber optic network. Installation costs will be paid from the capital fund [line
extensions]. Ongoing network support is accounted for in the operating budget
of the Communications Utility, and does not require additional staff or expenditures.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH LAKE COUNTY, FL TO PROVIDE LEASED FIBER OPTIC SERVICE TO 2401 WOODLEA RD., TAVARES, FL, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Lake County, Florida, whose address is 315 W. Main Street, Tavares, FL 32778 for leased fiber optic service.
THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
