Subject:                      Resolution Adopting the Pay Grades for Fiscal Year 2006-07

 

 

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution to adopt the proposed pay grades for fiscal year 2006-07, effective October 1, 2006.

 

Analysis:

Since the Commission has agreed to a “cost of living” increase of fifteen (15) cents across the board to all regular employees effective October 1, 2006, the minimums and maximums on the pay grades will be increased fifteen (15) cents.

 

The attached resolution includes the following for your consideration:

 

Options:

1.         Approve the resolution adopting the pay grades listed as Exhibit “A”, or

2.         Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

 

Fiscal Impact

The increase to salaries which will take place on October 1, 2006 has been budgeted at $214,700.  All pay grades continue to have the same spread from minimum to maximum.  This also continues to include a 4% pool for each department to provide an anniversary merit increase ranging from 3-6% to all eligible employees.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND FINANCE DIRECTOR TO IMPLEMENT THE APPROVED PAY GRADES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

 

            THAT the City Manager and Finance Director are hereby authorized to implement the attached 2006-07 proposed pay grades (Exhibit “A”), and

 

             THAT this resolution shall become effective October 1, 2006.
