Staff recommends approval of an amendment to the Independent Contractor Agreement standard form exempting all signatures except for the Contractor and City Manager.
On August 14, 2006 the City Commission approved a resolution authorizing a standardized agreement with “Independent Contractor” providing Recreational/Instructional Services to Citizens of Leesburg. The intent of the standardized agreement was to expedite general contracts by not having them go before the Commission for approval. The approved agreement however, did not remove the Mayor, City Clerk, and City Attorney signature blocks from the agreement.
Staff would like to amend the agreement exempting all signatures except for the Contractor and City Manager. This will alleviate the need to present each signed agreement to the Commission.
1. Approve the resolution amending the Independent Contractor Agreement or;
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate
