Subject: Approve purchase of a motor control panel from Siemens Water Technologies (formerly US Filter) for the Plantation Water Treatment Plant
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends approval of the purchase from Siemens Water Technologies (formerly US Filter) for a new motor control panel as an upgrade to the Plantation Water Treatment Plant for $107,651.00.
Analysis:
This purchase is for a necessary improvement to the Plantation Water Treatment Plant. This new control panel is needed to control the pump motors that will be replaced under a separate purchase. This new panel will also allow the Plantation Water Treatment Plant to be connected to the City’s existing remote monitoring or SCADA system.
This purchase is a single-source purchase. Siemens Water Technologies is the manufacturer of the current remote monitoring system used within the City Water and Wastewater operations.
Options:
1. Approve the purchase as stated above for $107,651.00, or
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate
Fiscal Impact:
This purchase will be funded from the Bond Anticipation Note funding previously approved by commission. A budget amendment will be made available for the amount of this purchase.
