Subject: Resolution authorizing an agreement with Diversified Drilling Corporation to provide as-needed well services and repairs for the Environmental Services Department.
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends execution of the agreement with Diversified Drilling Corporation for well services
Analysis:
The Environmental Services Department has the need for an on-going services contract for water well maintenance and repairs. This continuing services unit price contract will provide the department with a vendor that can be used for maintenance and repairs on an as-needed basis.
To this point the Environmental Services Department has been attempting to obtain the required three written quotes for repair work. It has become very time consuming and sometimes impossible to obtain the three quotes. Diversified Drilling has demonstrated an excellent record of responding to pricing requests. They are typically the only vendor that can complete all the services or work needed for water well maintenance and repair. Other vendors are not able to provide all the services needed for well maintenance and repairs.
The City is ‘piggybacking’ an agreement between the Tampa Bay Water Authority and Diversified Drilling Corporation. The Purchasing Division has evaluated the agreement and determined it is the result of a fair and open competitive bid process.
Options:
1. Approve the attached resolution authorizing the execution of the agreement with Diversified Drilling Corporation, or
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate
Fiscal Impact:
This agreement is for as-needed services and is available to any City department that requires the services offered by this vendor. This type of service is typically funded as a component of repairs and maintenance during the budget process. Although the exact dollars and nature of repairs are not known at the time of budgeting they are anticipated based on historical information.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH DIVERSIFIED DRILLING CORPORATION TO PROVIDE AS-NEEDED WELL SERVICES TO THE CITY OF LEESBURG; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:
THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with DIVERSIFIED DRILLING CORPORATION, whose address is 8801 Maislin Drive, Tampa, Florida 33637-6706, to provide as-needed well services for maintenance and repair.
THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
