Subject:                      Approval  to Appropriate Forfeiture Funds to assist the National Conference on Preventing Crime in the Black Community

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends appropriation of $1,000.00 to assist the National Conference on Preventing Crime in the Black Community.

Analysis:

The National Conference on Preventing Crime in the Black Community is a collaborative effort sponsored by the Attorneys General of Florida and Georgia to address issues related to the disproportionate number of African-Americans who are under the supervision of the criminal justice system.

Options:

1.  Approve the appropriation of the Forfeiture Funds

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

The contemplated expenditure is an authorized use of law enforcement trust funds.
