Subject:                      Resolution authorizing an agreement for grant funding for Lake Griffin Water Quality Improvement Project, City of Leesburg  Stormwater Best Management Practices (Contract #SK465AA)

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of Contract #SK465AA with St. Johns River Water Management District to secure District grant funding in an amount not to exceed $44,250.00 for the construction of the City of Leesburg WWTP stormwater ditch drainage piping.

Analysis:

This grant secures 50% matching funds from St. Johns River Water Management District for the completion of the City of Leesburg WWTP stormwater ditch draining piping.

Options:

1.  Accept and enter agreement with St. Johns River Water Management District or

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

The City will not incur any cost to execute this agreement, but will be required to contribute the local match.  This project has been included in the current year budget and funding is available in Account # 044-4099-535.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH ST. JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT FOR GRANT FUNDING FOR LAKE GRIFFIN WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, CITY OF LEESBURG STORMWATER BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES (CONTRACT #SK465AA); AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement  with St. Johns River Water Management District whose address is 4049 Reid Street, Palatka, FL 32177, for cost-sharing agreement #SK465AA for grant funding in an amount not to exceed $44,250.00 for the City of Leesburg Wastewater Treatment Plant stormwater ditch piping.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
