Subject:                      Resolution Authorizing Amendment One extending the Lease Agreement with Paul’s Marine Services to provide Watercraft Repair Services at the Venetian Cove Marina.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of Amendment One extending the Lease Agreement with Paul’s Marine Services to provide Watercraft Repair Services at the Venetian Cove Marina.

Analysis:

On March 13, 2006, the City Commission approved an agreement with Paul’s Marine Services to provide Watercraft Repair Services at the Venetian Cove Marina for a monthly rental fee of $300 per month. 

The amendment to the lease will allow quality services to continue to be provided to the patrons and will be for a one-year term unless terminated in accordance within the terms of the agreement.  Rent shall be paid monthly in the amount of $375, an increase of 25% as specified within the original agreement. All other terms and conditions are described within the attached agreement.

Options:

1.  Approve Amendment One to the Lease Agreement with Paul’s Marine Services or;

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

This agreement will increase revenues for the City of Leesburg in the amount of $4,500 annually.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT ONE EXTENDING THE LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LEESBURG AND PAUL'S MARINE SERVICES FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING WATERCRAFT REPAIR SERVICES FOR THE VENETIAN COVE MARINA; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Amendment One extending the Lease Agreement with Paul’s Marine Services whose address is 27620 CR – 33, Okahumpka, FL  34762 to provide Watercraft Repair Services for the Venetian Cove Marina for a term of one year and shall pay a monthly rental fee of $375 per month, an increase of 25% as specified within the original agreement.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
