Subject:                      Request for appropriation of forfeiture funds of $500 to purchase one sponsorship for the 9^th Annual Florida Missing Children’s Day

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of appropriation of Forfeiture Funds of $500 to fund the sponsorship of the Florida Missing Children’s Day 2007.

Analysis:

The Leesburg Police Department would like to become a sponsor for the 9^th annual Florida Missing Children’s Day 2007.  The event, which is being hosted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Missing Children Information Clearinghouse, is an opportunity to remember Florida’s past and present missing children as well as recognize the state’s efforts in the child protection arena.

Options:

1.  Approve the appropriation of forfeiture funds of $500

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

These funds are budgeted and available in the Fiscal Year 2007 Budget.
