Subject:                      Resolution authorizing execution of an Agreement with Innovative Shade, LLC. for Construction Services to provide and install Bleacher Shade Covers.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends execution of the agreement with Innovative Shades, LLC for construction services to provide and install bleacher shade covers for $25,568.00.

Analysis:

The purpose of this project is to contract with a qualified vendor to provide the materials and labor to install fabric shade covers over the bleachers at the Susan Street Sports Complex.

The shade covers will be constructed from a metal pipe frame and sunshade fabric.  These structures will be similar to those at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex.  This type of shade cover is a durable alternative to a shade structure constructed from conventional materials.  This project will provide eight shade covers at the complex.

The Purchasing Division issued Invitation to Bid No. 70151 soliciting qualified firms to provide all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for the construction of eight shade covers at the sports complex.  On March 28, 2007 3 bid responses were received.  The bid tabulation is attached for your review.  The responses were evaluated and Innovative Shade was deemed the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

Options:

1.  Approve execution of the agreement with Innovative Shade, LLC; or

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

The funds for this project have been budgeted in this fiscal year and are currently available in the account listed.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH INNOVATIVE SHADE, LLC TO PROVIDE AND INSTALL BLEACHER SHADE COVERS AT THE SUSAN STREET SPORTS COMPLEX; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement  with INNOVATIVE SHADE, LLC, whose address is 1948 River Lagoon Trace, St. Augustine, Florida 32092, for providing material and labor to construct shade covers at the Susan Street Sports Complex pursuant to Bid Number 70151.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
