Subject:                      Resolution authorizing execution of  Task Order Number One with Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation for surveying and utility mapping services on Dixie Avenue

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of the resolution authorizing execution of Task Order Number One with Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation for $44,935.00 pursuant to RFP 80452.

Analysis:

The purpose of this task order is to obtain surveying and utility mapping services.  This surveying work is to prepare for the installation of a new reuse water main.  The survey work will involve several nodes/segments along Dixie Avenue (SR-44) between Canal and Main Streets.

The City has a continuing services contract with the professional to provide surveying and mapping services.  Commission awarded the contract pursuant to Request for Proposal 80452 awarded the contract.

Options:

1. Approve the resolution authorizing the execution of Task Order One with Southeastern Surveying & Mapping Corporation in the amount of $44,935.00; or

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

This acquisition is part of the City Core System Reuse Mains., where $640,000 is budgeted and available under the current fiscal year budget through the 2007 Bond Issue.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE TASK ORDER NUMBER ONE WITH SOUTHEASTERN SURVEYING & MAPPING CORPORATION FOR SURVEYING AND UTILITY MAPPING SERVICES ON DIXIE AVENUE LOCATED IN SECTION 25, TOWNSHIP 19 SOUTH, RANGE 24 EAST, LAKE COUNTY FLORIDA: AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute Task Order Number One with SOUTHEASTERN SURVEYING & MAPPING CORPORATION, whose address is 6500 All American Boulevard, Orlando, Florida, 32810, for surveying and utility mapping services on Dixie Avenue located in section 25, township 19 south, range 24 east, in Lake County, Florida. 

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Leesburg, Florida, at a regular meeting held the _12th____ day of _January__ 2009.
