Subject:                      Resolution authorizing an agreement with SMW GeoSciences, Inc. for professional services associated with Consumptive Use Permit #94.

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of the agreement with SMW GeoSciences, Inc. for professional services associated with Consumptive Use Permit #94.

Analysis:

The City is in the process of renewing Consumptive Use Permit (CUP) #94.  SMW GeoSciences, Inc. has been providing continuing services for this renewal under a previous authorization.  This authorization provides for the final steps with the CUP renewal, as summarized in the attached fee proposal.

Options:

1.  Approve the agreement with SMW GeoSciences, Inc. as presented; or;

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

The contract amount is not to exceed $40,000.  Funds for this purpose are provided in the FY 2009 budget.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH SMW GEOSCIENCES, INC., FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE FINALIZATION OF THE CITY'S CONSUMPTIVE USE PERMIT #94; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LEESBURG, FLORIDA:

            THAT the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement  with SMW GeoSciences, Inc. whose address is 1411 Edgewater Drive Suite 103, Orlando, FL  32804-6352, for professional services associated with the finalization of the City’s Consumptive Use Permit #94.

 THAT this resolution shall become effective immediately.
