Subject:                      Requisition #40857 to Diversified Drilling Corp. for the purchase of High Service Pump 2 / for the Main Water Treatment Plant (WTP)

Staff Recommendation:

Staff recommends approval of Requisition #40857 to Diversified Drilling Corp. for $32,061.87 to purchase High Service Pump 2 / Model 8A16B Serial #147656 for the Main Water Treatment Plant (WTP).

Analysis:

The purchase of this High Service Pump will maintain firm pumping capacity during either a high flow or a fire event.  This will allow the City to stay in compliance with DEP and other agencies during such events.  This is the smallest of all our pumps and when demand is not high, we can use this pump to conserve on electrical use.   Purchasing the pump is cheaper than repairing the pump.

Options:

1.  Approve the purchase from Diversified Drilling Corp.; or

2.  Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate

Fiscal Impact: 

Funding is budgeted and available in the account listed below.
