Subject: Request for Appropriation of Forfeiture Funds to the Haven of Lake County, Domestic Violence Shelters
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends the appropriation of Forfeiture Funds of $1,500.00 to assist in sponsoring The Haven in its endeavor to provide and maintain domestic violence shelters for victims in our community.
Analysis:
The Haven empowers victims to achieve permanent independent living. They use transitional housing, education, employment, and life-skills training to help people move from homelessness to independence. The goal of the agency is to achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency for each person.
Options:
1. To approve the appropriations of Forfeiture Funds in the amount of $1,500.00
2. Such alternative action as the Commission may deem appropriate
Fiscal Impact:
Funding is available for this purpose and is an authorized use of Law Enforcement Trust Funds.
