Leesburg Offices to Close for Thanksgiving Holiday
 
City of Leesburg offices including City Hall, Customer Service, utilities, Community Development, the Leesburg Public Library and Parks and Recreation facilities will close Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24 and 25, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Residential solid waste and recycling also will not be collected those days.
 
For utility emergencies and inquiries, call (352) 728-9830. Police and fire emergencies should call 911.
 
The library will open again from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26. All offices and public facilities will reopen Monday, Nov. 28.
 
The city also will host the annual holiday Light-Up Leesburg celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday featuring live music, refreshments and thousands of brilliant lights at Venetian Gardens on Dixie Avenue. The lights will shine nightly through Jan. 1. For event information, call 352-728-9870.
                       
Leesburg is a progressive city of more than 20,000 residents in northwest Lake County. The city government serves twice as many people with its electric, gas, water, wastewater and fiber-optic public utilities. Leesburg also is a central hub for commerce, attracting 50,000 people to work each weekday.
