Toddler Activities at the Leesburg Public LibraryIt is never too early to start the "library habit" for your children. Toddlers and parents have their own special activities, throughout the month, at the Leesburg Public Library. The first and third Tuesday of each month, at 4:00 PM is Toddler Storytime with Ms. Lesley. They program repeats on the first and third Thursday of each month at 10:30 AM. The program focuses on simple stories, finger games and the ever-popular Toddler "bubble dance.: This year, registration is required, so call the library at 728-9790 to reserve your child's space or add your name to the waiting list.
The second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 3:30 will feature the new Toddler Play 'n Learn program. This program repeats on the second and fourth Thursday morning at 10:30, and runs for about an hour. The library has purchased an in-house collection educational and developmental toys for children to experience. On September 26 and 28, Trish Van Etten of the Lake County Reading Readiness Coalition, will visit the programs and talk about how children's brains get ready to learn. This is a limited size class, so registration is required. Call 728-9790 for registration and information.
The Big Blue Bus will be visiting the library on the second Tuesday of each month to share reading readiness activities. No registration is required. The bus will be parked at the library at 3:30 till 4:30. Come visit Ms. Nelly each month to get your child ready to read.
